Invincible is the second installment Sherrilyn Kenyon’s “Chronicles of Nick” series.
Taking place immediately after the first book, Nick Gautier finds himself thrust into a strange and dangerous world, a world that was hidden within the one he knew. His perspicacity develops allowing his to see the many demons and shape-shifters that originally had been hidden in plain sight. Along with learning about the world around him, he learns more about the demonic powers that lie dormant within him and trains to awaken them.
Nick Gautier struggles to come to terms with the many situations he gets thrown into. More than once, he finds himself being forced to do things violate his values. Despite this, he remain a good kid and many doors are opened to him because of the goodness inside him.
Invinvible is another amazing book by Sherrilyn Kenyon. This book is hilarious and addicting. Nick’s sarcasm is back at full force. In some areas it falls short compared to the first book, Infinity, but in many other ways it exceeds Infinity. In this book there are more demonic and supernatural elements, and a bit more school drama. Through Nick, we learn about the dangerous world hidden within the mortal one. The book starts fast-paced and holds your interest until the very last page. This book ends with another cliffhanger so I recommend having the third book, Infamous, nearby.
I give this 420 page book 4 stars.
Chronicles of Nick
The series takes place in modern day New Orleans. A deadly demonic world lies behind the veil of normalcy. Nick Gautier, the main protagonist, is unlucky enough to have this world revealed to him and to learn that he is destined to play a part in the fate of both worlds.
