Infamous, by Sherrilyn Kenyon is the third entry in the “Chronicles of Nick” series.
This book takes place about a year after the events of Invincible, the previous book. Nick is continuing to learn about the powers hidden inside of him. Without warning, someone in his school starts posting appalling rumors, doctored and dark secrets about the students. With entire school given access to massive amounts awful lies and truths, the school is thrown into chaos. Nick has to find the person started the problem, deal with the repercussions, and learn to master his demonic powers while being hunted by thousands of demons.
In this book, Nick is constantly being beaten down, both mentally and physically. He is overrun with verbal and physical attacks that leave him open to the influence of others. Thanks to the many people in his life, he is able to stand strong and keep moving forward. Heeding the experience and warnings of other, he learns about growing up and is able to get through the horrors life throws at him.
This book is amazing. It is witty, sarcastic, and hilarious while being action packed and addicting. Throughout book, Nick faces several challenges and is lectured by those around him on how to move on. This book is full of quotes and pieces of advice that anyone can learn from. Every character seems to be able to impart wisdom about betrayal, love, and life onto Nick and therefore, onto the reader. It discusses themes that any teenager or adult can relate to like bullying, and human will. This book is immensely entertaining.
I give this 468 page book deserves 5 stars.
