In the sequel to Amy Rose Capetta’s Entangled, Cade, once again, narrates the story. Unmade takes place seven weeks after the events of Entangled, seven weeks after Xan. They find Cade’s mother on the planet Res Minor. After being attacked while on the planet, Cade and the crew discover that the Unmakers aren’t just after Cade, they’re out to destroy the entire human race. It is up to Cade and her crew to save all humans from the Unmakers.
There are very few changed to the crew Entangled fans have learned to love. Lee and Ayumi keep their same character and recieve little character development. Gori continues to be the difficult, uncooperative Darkrider and Renna remains Renna. The changes that do occur are stunning. Rennik is in love with Cade, but when he isn’t kissing her, he is pushing her away. The new addition, Mira, is full of mystery. Finally, Cade is haunted by her inability to save Xan. Although she lost her entangled strength, she her immunity to spacesickness remains. She is being followed by a mysterious song and is in love with the Hatchum, Rennik. As the story progresses, Cade’s entangled abilities grow stronger.
In all, this sequel isn’t as good as the first. The love story took away from the roughness that made Cade who she is. The bonus quantum physics facts weren’t in this book and we really don’t understand how Cade’s powers work. This book wasn’t entirely bad. There was more action in this book compared to the previous book and there were a bunch of plot twists. Sadly, this book didn’t live up to the standard the first book set.
I give this 371 page book 3.5 stars.
Entangled
The entangled series takes place in a futuristic universe with many bizarre aliens and planets. Humans have scattered through the galaxies after earth was destroyed.
